I am a 59 year old wife and mother of five, grandmother of one and a half
Today is September 5, 2009. I work at Mt. San Jacinto College as a dean and my job is demanding and rewarding. I have breast cancer and have never had anything wrong with me that a good joke and a glass of wine couldn’t cure. It’s startling and daunting and scary. This blog will be my way of communicating and reflecting during my treatment and journey to a cure.
Pat,
I’m glad you’re journaling/blogging through this experience. I hope you find strength in sharing your experience and hearing from others who have faced the same fight.

Hi Pat,
From one survivor to another — ALWAYS TAKE CARE OF YOU; get good, regular sleep and learn how to REST EASILY; take it one minute at a time tomorrow (and every day there after :O))
Chemo has come a long way since I was diagnosed at age 41, ten years ago. Radiation is not a cake walk either, but you are strong and have a solid support network, which is SO important to your wellbeing.
Good luck tomorrow and God bless, I will be thinking of you and praying for you all day tomorrow. You will not only survive this, but you will thrive………

All I can say is WOW – Pat, what an amazing woman you are! I was sitting up doing work – what a surpise – and a little note fell out of my bag – next thing I knew I was flipping through your blog and as I sat here tonight I got chills, I got choked up, I giggled, I even laughed for you. I am soo happy to hear you made a connection with Michelle’s Place and Susan G. Komen’s info. What powerful women! I cherish both of the organizations and hold them in my heart. Your blog is amazing…what a gift for everyone touched by BC. Keep up the strength – I send you all my good mo-jo!!!

Hi Pat,
My wife just completed her last treatment in September, and physically and spiritually, she, I believe, is doing fine. I just want to send you my best.
Keep the faith

Thanks Keith,
I love hearing about survivors! At Michelle’s Place, a support network for BC folks, they that everyone is a survivor of something. I will hold positive energy in my heart for your wife’s continued good health, and for yours.

Pat,
Thinking and praying for you. In my prayers I have asked for God to give you Complete Response and Healthy Blood!
I do think of you often and via Shelley she keeps me informed of how you are. Keep up the good fight. By the way, you not only have a healthy, strong heart, but a good one.

Hi Brenda!
I so remember you! You took my picture and it ended up in this blog. I think I had your name wrong in the beginning. It has been a long year, but I am good. My trip then was wonderful and it started its greatness by sitting with you on the way to see the girls. I also now have a 9 month old grandson and am hoping to get back to Raleigh to see him soon. I hope you are well.
